November 13, 2011 Cornish estate

Took a trip back to Cold Spring with Karen to show her the Estate ruins (Northgate). It was a great day for November and it also gave me the chance to view it with no snow on the ground. There were many fallen trees, either from the Hurricane Irene or the snow storm in October or both.

Spent time walking around the main house ruins. Since there was no snow on the ground I was able to find the swimming pool. I can't imagine how beautiful it must have been to swim here while looking at the hudson river!

We then went exploring some of the outer buildings. The green house and other ruins.

The trip back down had a great view of the Hudson to include the Cornwall Yacht club

Nice and cool walk in the woods with Karen. This was a time to practice with my camera since I had just taken a camera class. There are several shots of the the same waterfall with different ISO settings.You can see the big difference in the water. It was great to just take picture after picture in such a beautiful setting.

August 21, 2011. Fort Montgomery Hike

Nls and I did this one on August 21st. We went to the historical site of the Battle of Ft Montgomery. We stopped in the visitiors center for a while and spoke with the staff there....such nice people. We then left with the intent of going to "hell hole" but could not find the path to it from Popolopen creek.
